Approved
The UK Student visa, from Nigeria. Handled.
CAS, proof of funds, the health surcharge, the TB test and the credibility interview. We prepare every piece with you, free, so nothing is left to chance.
A UK Student visa needs a CAS from your university, proof you can fund your studies, an approved level of English, the health surcharge paid, a TB test, and sometimes a short credibility interview. With Mafit, every piece is prepared with you, free.
Six steps to approval.
From the moment you accept your offer to the day your visa is granted, here is the path, and where we carry the weight.
Accept your offer and get your CAS
Once you accept your offer and pay the tuition deposit, the university issues your CAS, a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies. You cannot apply for the visa without it.
We guide your CAS requestPrepare your money
Show proof of funds for tuition and living costs, held for the required period, and pay the visa application fee and the Immigration Health Surcharge to the UK government.
See the money belowComplete the online application
Apply online on the UK government website using your CAS, then book your biometrics appointment at the visa application centre.
Completed with you, freeGather your documents
Passport, CAS, proof of funds, English evidence, your TB test certificate and any course-specific papers. Track them in the checklist below.
Document check by MafitBiometrics and any credibility interview
Give your fingerprints and photo at the centre. If you are asked to interview, you will already be rehearsed.
Mock interview includedDecision and travel
Collect your decision, set up your eVisa or collect your BRP, and travel to the UK ready to begin.
Wheels upTick off what you have.
The documents a UK Student visa typically needs. Tick each one and watch your readiness climb. Missing something is exactly what we help with.
What you pay, and to whom.
Three costs sit with the UK government, never with Mafit. Our guidance through all of them is free.
Visa application fee
A fee charged by the UK government to process your Student visa application. We confirm the current amount with you before you apply.
Immigration Health Surcharge
The IHS gives you access to the National Health Service during your studies. It is paid as part of your visa application.
Proof of funds
You show you can cover your first year of tuition plus living costs for up to nine months. Higher for London than elsewhere, and usually held in an eligible account for at least 28 consecutive days.
Exact figures for the visa fee, the health surcharge and the maintenance funds are set by the UK government and change from time to time. We confirm the current amounts with you, and help you prepare every statement correctly so nothing is queried.
Walk in rehearsed.
Some applicants are asked a few questions to confirm they are a genuine student. It is nothing to fear when you have practised.
A UK official may interview you, in person or by video, to check that you understand your course, your choice of university and how you will support yourself. Calm, clear, honest answers are what they want to hear.
Why did you choose this course?
Connect it to your background and your goals. Show you understand what you will study and why it matters to you.
Why this university, and why the UK?
Mention specific reasons: the course content, reputation, the city, the UK's one-year master's or post-study work route.
How will you fund your studies?
Be clear and consistent with your proof of funds: who is paying, from where, and that the money is genuinely available.
What are your plans after you graduate?
Show a realistic plan that makes sense for a genuine student, whether that is the Graduate Route or returning home with new skills.
Tell me about your course modules.
Know the structure of your programme: a few core modules, the length, and how it is assessed.
Time it right.
Apply once you have your CAS, not before, and leave room for processing and travel.
Apply early
You can usually apply up to six months before your course starts, once your CAS is issued.
Hold your funds
Make sure your money has sat in an eligible account for the full required period first.
Biometrics and wait
Decisions often arrive within about three weeks. Priority services can be faster.
Travel
Set up your eVisa or collect your BRP, then book travel within your visa start window.
Apply too early and your funds may not yet qualify; leave it too late and there may be no time before your course begins. We help you hit the window exactly.
The visa does more than get you in.
Work while you study
Most full-time degree students can work up to 20 hours a week in term time, and full time during holidays, subject to your visa conditions.
The Graduate Route
Eligible graduates can stay in the UK to work after finishing their course. We confirm the current rules and duration with you.
Your eVisa or BRP
Your immigration status is held digitally as an eVisa, or on a biometric residence permit. We show you how to access and prove it.
Why visas get refused.
Most refusals come down to avoidable errors. These are exactly the ones we close out before you apply.
Funds not held long enough
The money was not in an eligible account for the full required period, or the statement was dated wrong.
Wrong or missing documents
A missing TB certificate, an unclear statement or a translation error stalls the whole application.
A weak interview
Vague or inconsistent answers about your course or funding raise doubts about being a genuine student.
Funds from unclear sources
Money that appears suddenly, or a sponsor that is not properly evidenced, gets questioned.
Mismatched information
Details on the application that do not match the CAS, the funds or the supporting documents.
Applying at the wrong time
Too early for the funds rule, or too late to travel before the course begins.
We pressure-test every one of these before you submit, the difference between hoping and knowing.

Visa questions.
What is a CAS and when do I get it?
A CAS, or Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies, is a reference number your university issues after you accept your offer and meet its conditions. You cannot apply for the Student visa without it.
How much money do I need to show?
You show funds for your first year of tuition plus living costs for up to nine months. The living-cost amount is higher for London than elsewhere, and the money usually has to sit in an eligible account for at least 28 consecutive days. We confirm the current amounts with you.
Do I need a TB test?
Yes. Applicants from Nigeria must provide a tuberculosis test certificate from a clinic approved by the UK government. We point you to an approved clinic.
What happens in the credibility interview?
A UK official asks a few questions to confirm you are a genuine student, covering your course, your university choice, your funding and your plans. We prepare you with mock interviews so you walk in ready.
Can I work on a Student visa?
Most full-time degree students can work up to 20 hours a week during term time and full time during holidays, subject to the conditions printed on your visa.
How long does a decision take?
Decisions often arrive within about three weeks of a complete application, and priority services can be faster. We help you apply with enough time before your course begins.
