The TOEFL exam,in Nigeria.

What the TOEFL iBT is

The TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language) is the English proficiency test most Nigerian students take for university admission. Run by ETS, it is accepted by thousands of universities across the United States, Canada, the UK, Europe and Australia, plus many scholarship boards and professional bodies.

The four-section TOEFL format

Every TOEFL iBT covers four parts, Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing, each scored on a 1 to 6 band since 21 January 2026, with a comparable score out of 120 reported until January 2028. The test runs in under two hours, fully on a computer: Reading and Listening adapt to your level, Writing is typed, and Speaking is recorded into a microphone.
